Questions

Very simple questions often unlock great mysteries of the universe and the world. Newton’s why things fall down? or Wittgenstein’s what is language? or Ramana Maharshi’s who am I? or the great question of why there is something instead of nothing.
Humble questions provoke greatly because we can relate to them and are very much grounded in the human experience. However, few are interested in them. People dare to become millionaires and billionaires but none bother except a few to ask the question what is money? In fact, in universities, few lectures are devoted to the simplest things like definitions and basic elements of the subject. People are given degrees without asking them to inquire about things like what is thought? and what is space?
It’s better to come down than go up in search of exotic knowledge.

Price and benefits

Sometimes the price that you pay outweighs the benefits you get in return. The 18-hour work for extra dollars and the 3-hour internet searching for coupons and discounts for saving a few pounds belong to this category. We plan exotic trips to god-forsaken places but the long flight journeys, visa issues, and poor accommodation make the fancy beach and unique flora and fauna pointless. The promotion might be good but sadly the trading off of family and personal time might not be.

Distance

Closeness is always dangerous and threatening for people. The fantasies, mirages, and appearances that they created will falter and break away when there is less gap. That’s why we are scared of love and avoid intimacy with friends and partners. And being distant from everybody, for this reason, calls for an inauthentic living, lies, and fake lifestyles. This eventually creates a distance within yourself with yourself and alienates you from a sense of purpose and meaning in life. Being tightly knitted is chilling but it is honest and perhaps simple.

God and Wishes

God cannot and should not fulfill our wishes because the consequences are dangerous. Any change in your reality will alter the world’s reality. You getting a car/home/job in an unintended way or time will disturb the fragile order and set in chaos. Likewise, god saving you from death too will start a wildfire that might kill tens if not thousands in some unimaginable ways and means. Reality should be allowed to flow in its own path without obstruction. For instance, if the lord lets you unite with your lover then you as a personality change in a different manner and react in some other unique method that kindles a chain reaction and events that no one can alter unless everything in the universe is destroyed and started afresh.

Anger

I’ve realized that people are angry about some issues but they vent out on other ones. The real problem with your manager might be that you are getting too close to the boss and the possible promotion in near future. But they vent out on you over some statistical error in the monthly report. If someone is arguing in a heated way then pause and think over the elephant in the room that’s bothering if the relationship is worth saving in the first place. By this, at least you can worry about the right matter.

Talking

Most of the talk people do is in an unconscious state. They rarely think over things and talk to you. Keeping this in mind saves you a lot of energy. If you ask questions about what they talked and said in the past hour then most people fail to accurately recall and respond. Hence feeling happy or sad about the stuff they uttered is pointless. Don’t take it personally and ramp up emotions.

Opinions

There’s absolutely no need for you to have an opinion on something. In fact, your and the outer world is much better without it. The political party, music band, movie, and the soccer team don’t need your validation. Save your breath and anger.

Banned

Osho once remarked that prohibition is an invitation. This is absolutely true!
The natural curiosity gets the best of us. We crave to read banned books. This is why one of the worst things that government can do during protests/revolutions is to censor or ban a book. Likewise, the government blocking access to documentaries/movies/songs/poems or any form of expression will encourage its further expression or instigate otherwise bored common man in it which if not vetoed by authorities would have lost in the sea of information. Perhaps they haven’t read the quote- “So many books, so little time.”

Goodness

Nature is never good. The tsunami and earthquakes don’t bother about the lives they take away nor does the cyclone care about the crops it damages which puts hundreds of families in misery. Likewise, the lion doesn’t pity over the life of a deer baby. It hunts mercilessly and eats belly-full. In fact, the viruses and bacteria families kill millions of humans every year, and not even kids are spared. We never judge and question the character of nature. However, humans are judged left and right and are given the highest form of judgement.

Learning

Battlefield is the greatest teacher. Training sessions give basic knowledge but not crucial and critical insights on mastery. Coding competitions, Exams, Marathons, Wars, and Businesses instruct more than the lessons we learn within four walls.
Putting yourself in the game and waging your life on the line with 100% accountability and everything to gain and nothing to lose attitude will speed up the process of evolution and improvement.
