Crops of Crime(Poem)

Plantation

Sugar-sweetened
from the savory of slavery.

Cotton-bloomed
on the buried black soil of nightmares.

Tobacco-harvested
smoking injustice.

Coffee-brewed
in the milk of flogging.

Tender leaves-plucked
by un-schooled children.

Indigo-raised
in the bleached plains of un-colored
blueness.

Olives-blossomed
obediently to the nightly horrors.

Cocoa-chocolated
in the un-mathematical
triangle of
human trafficking
hope
harshness.
